Creative Hair Week
During Creative Hair Week, the Session 2 braiders showcased their creativity in hair designs and creations. Parents invited to attend the class, judged the teen's creativity. Everyone had a blast and enjoyed meeting other families!

St. Pete Free Clinic Supports Teens’ Nutrition with Healthy
Over the summer months, the St. Petersburg Free Clinic generously provides Braiding With A Twist with healthy snacks to keep the teens powered through their classes.
Social determinants of health are the conditions in which people are born, grow, live, work, and age. They include socioeconomic status, education, housing, employment, and access to healthcare. Communities that adequately address social determinants of health experience health equity, where no one is “disadvantaged from achieving their potential because of social position or other socially determined circumstances (CDC.gov).”
St. Pete Free Clinic’s (SPFC's) programs support health equity by providing nutritious food, access to healthcare, and recovery housing. Braiding with a Twist's work to empower youth by creating an environment where they can learn, grow, and believe in their inner and outer beauty by way of braiding complements our work in the community.
SPFC is happy to support Braiding With a Twist with healthy snack options during evening classes and serve as a resource for additional access to nutritious food if needed.
